With BYD, you benefit from comprehensive warranty coverage, giving you peace of mind on the road. The warranty period varies depending on the component:
To ensure you continue to benefit from your BYD warranty, it is important to have your vehicle serviced on time by an authorised BYD dealer. Service intervals depend on the type of powertrain:
Regular and timely servicing helps keep your BYD in optimal condition and ensures you continue to meet the applicable warranty requirements.
The BYD warranty covers defects resulting from material or manufacturing faults during the applicable warranty period.
The BYD warranty starts on the date the vehicle is delivered to the first owner.
Yes. The BYD warranty is linked to the vehicle and remains valid when ownership changes, provided the warranty period and applicable conditions are still met. If you purchase a second-hand BYD, you can therefore benefit from the remaining manufacturer’s warranty.
To ensure your BYD is properly maintained and you can continue to benefit from the warranty, we recommend having your vehicle serviced according to the prescribed service intervals and by an authorised BYD dealer.
For electric vehicles, servicing is required every 2 years or 30,000 km, whichever comes first. For plug-in hybrid vehicles, servicing is required every year or 15,000 km, whichever comes first.
Yes. The BYD warranty remains valid abroad, subject to the applicable warranty terms and conditions. If you experience an issue while travelling, you can contact BYD Roadside Assistance, depending on the situation and applicable conditions.
The BYD warranty covers certain defects and repairs that are caused by material or manufacturing faults, in accordance with the applicable warranty terms and conditions.
BYD Roadside Assistance provides roadside support if you are unable to continue your journey due to a breakdown or other covered incident. Roadside Assistance is included as part of the BYD warranty for new vehicles and is initially valid for 24 months from the vehicle delivery date. Under certain conditions, this coverage can be extended.
When you take delivery of a new BYD, you automatically receive 24 months of BYD Roadside Assistance from the vehicle delivery date.
If you follow the prescribed maintenance schedule at an authorised BYD repairer during the first 24 months, your roadside assistance is extended by 12 months. If you then continue to have the scheduled maintenance carried out at an authorised BYD repairer throughout the first 36 months, a second 12-month extension applies.
This means your BYD Roadside Assistance can be extended to a total of 48 months from the vehicle delivery date, provided the required maintenance is carried out on time.
If you experience a breakdown or another covered issue while on the road, contact BYD Roadside Assistance for assistance.
You can reach BYD Roadside Assistance 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on: 003222863005
You can have your BYD serviced at an authorised BYD dealer or repairer. The BYD network has the technical expertise, equipment and genuine parts required to service your vehicle according to the recommended maintenance procedures.
For fully electric BYD models, servicing is scheduled every 2 years or 30,000 km, whichever comes first.
During each service, the key systems and components of your vehicle are checked to help ensure the safety, performance and reliability of your BYD.
For BYD plug-in hybrid models, servicing is scheduled every year or 15,000 km, whichever comes first.
As a plug-in hybrid combines an electric powertrain with a combustion engine, both systems are checked during servicing to help ensure the vehicle’s safety, performance and reliability.
BYD can send software updates Over The Air (OTA) directly to your vehicle, so you don't always need to visit a dealer.
OTA updates are rolled out gradually in batches. When an update is available for your vehicle, you will receive a notification in the car and can choose to install it immediately or schedule it for a more convenient time.
During the installation of an OTA update, you cannot use the vehicle. We therefore recommend starting an update when your BYD is parked and you do not need to use it during the installation.
To book a service or maintenance appointment, contact your authorised BYD dealer directly. They can advise you on available appointments, the recommended maintenance for your specific model and any work that may be required.
We recommend booking your service in good time and following the prescribed maintenance intervals to keep your BYD in optimal condition.
No. An electric car generally requires less maintenance than a vehicle with a combustion engine. An electric powertrain has fewer moving parts, which means fewer components need regular servicing or replacement.
For example, there is no engine oil, oil filter, spark plugs or exhaust system that require regular maintenance. The brakes also tend to wear less quickly thanks to regenerative braking.
At BYD, fully electric models are serviced every 2 years or 30,000 km, whichever comes first. As a result, maintenance requirements and associated costs can be lower over the lifetime of the vehicle compared with a similar combustion-engine model.
The BYD App allows you to remotely manage various functions of your BYD and check your vehicle’s status. Depending on the model, you can use the app to:
Available features may vary depending on your BYD model and specification.
Follow these steps to connect your BYD to the app:
If the QR code does not appear on your BYD’s screen, go to Settings → System → Remote control on the infotainment screen. From there, you can access the QR code needed to connect your vehicle to the BYD App.
If the QR code is not available there either, please contact your BYD dealer and ask them to resubmit your account and vehicle for activation.
With the BYD Digital Key, you can use your smartphone or smartwatch as a digital key for your BYD, without needing your physical key. This allows you to unlock and start your BYD using your compatible device.
The Digital Key uses NFC technology. Even if your device no longer has a mobile network or internet connection, you can still use the digital key for a limited period. Availability and functionality may vary depending on the BYD model and your device.
Yes. The digital key is stored on your smartphone’s secure chip and uses reliable NFC (Near Field Communication) technology to provide secure communication between your smartphone and your BYD.
Because the Digital Key communicates via NFC, your smartphone does not always need to be connected to a mobile network or the internet to use the Digital Key.
Open the BYD App, select Digital Key and follow the on-screen instructions to register your smartphone as a digital key. Make sure Bluetooth is enabled on your smartphone and follow the steps shown in the app.
Activation and use of the Digital Key are available when both your BYD model and smartphone support this feature.
Yes. As the primary user, you can share your BYD Digital Key with up to 7 other people through your Mobile Wallet. The people you share the key with can then add it to their own smartphone.
Each BYD vehicle supports up to 16 digital keys, allowing multiple users to access the vehicle without requiring a physical key for each person.
The availability of the Digital Key and its supported features may vary depending on the BYD model and the smartphone being used.
You can remove a shared Digital Key in several ways:
This allows you to revoke access to your BYD even if a smartphone has been lost or stolen.
AC stands for Alternating Current. This is the type of charging you typically use when charging at home or at public charging points, also known as normal or slow charging.
With AC charging, the alternating current from the electricity grid is converted into direct current (DC) by the vehicle’s onboard charger, which then charges the battery.
AC charging is generally slower than DC charging, but it is ideal when your vehicle is parked for a longer period, for example overnight or during the working day.
DC stands for Direct Current. With DC charging, the battery is charged directly with direct current. The conversion from AC to DC takes place in the charging station rather than in the vehicle. This allows for fast charging.
The maximum charging speed depends on the BYD model, battery, charging station and weather conditions.
Yes. Certain BYD plug-in hybrid models support DC fast charging, allowing you to recharge the battery relatively quickly while on the road.
For everyday use, however, AC charging is often the most practical option. You can, for example, charge your vehicle at home or at work while it is parked for a longer period.
Whether your BYD plug-in hybrid supports DC fast charging, and the maximum charging power available, depends on the specific model and specification.
BYD Flash Charging is BYD’s next-generation fast-charging technology, enabling charging power of up to 1,500 kW. Under ideal conditions, a compatible BYD can charge from 10% to 70% battery capacity in just 5 minutes.
BYD is currently rolling out Flash Charging technology. The first compatible models featuring the Blade Battery 2.0 are expected to be introduced in the coming months.
For everyday use, AC charging is generally the most suitable way to charge your BYD. DC fast charging is particularly useful when you are on the road and need to add extra range quickly.
You therefore do not need to use a fast charger every time. When you have enough time, for example overnight at home, AC charging is an excellent choice.
Yes. On supported BYD models, you can schedule charging through the BYD App. For example, you can set a specific time for your vehicle to start charging.
This can be particularly useful if you want to charge your BYD overnight or take advantage of specific charging times.
Yes. With BYD, you can charge your electric vehicle’s battery to 100% without concern. Thanks to the Blade Battery, you don’t need to avoid regular full charging in the same way as with some other electric vehicles.
This makes charging simple: you don’t need to change your charging habits to protect the battery. Regular DC fast charging is also supported.
Yes. BYD supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto on compatible models. You can even connect your smartphone wirelessly to your BYD’s infotainment system.
This gives you easy access to compatible apps for navigation, music, podcasts, calls and messages, directly through your vehicle’s screen.
Google built-in is available on selected BYD models. For example, the ATTO 2 DM-i and ATTO 3 EVO feature Google built-in.
With Google built-in, selected Google services are integrated directly into your BYD’s infotainment system. This means you don’t necessarily need to connect your smartphone to use these services.
Google built-in is integrated directly into your BYD’s infotainment system. This allows you to use selected Google services and compatible apps directly from the vehicle, without necessarily connecting your smartphone.
Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connect your smartphone to your BYD’s infotainment system and bring compatible apps and features from your smartphone to the vehicle’s screen.
Your BYD comes with various connected services that use a mobile data connection, such as online navigation, streaming and other connected features.
After 2 years, the free data period expires. The basic functions of your infotainment system will continue to work, but certain online services will no longer be automatically available.
With a BYD Connect data subscription, you can continue using these connected services. The subscription includes:
Good to know: OTA updates will continue to work even without a BYD Connect data subscription. Your vehicle will therefore remain up to date.
Yes. Depending on the model, you can charge your smartphone using the available USB ports and/or wireless charging function.
The available charging options and supported charging power may vary depending on the BYD model and specification.
Yes. Depending on the infotainment system, you can control various functions of your BYD using voice commands.
